Rafael Devers sure knows how to hit dingers, and the Boston Red Sox third baseman made sure to let the Pittsburgh Pirates know that in a spring training game Tuesday.
The third baseman squared up and took Bucs pitcher Joe Musgrove deep, sending the two-run blast to straightaway center field.
Take a look:
It was a busy day for Devers, who totaled three runs scored and a pair of RBIs with a walk in the 12-6 win. His home run was his third in spring training, and the continuation of some pop he put on display during his rookie campaign in 2017. In just 222 at-bats last season, Devers smacked 10 balls out of the park.
We’re sure the Red Sox are hoping that homer was just a sign of things to come as the youngster prepares to play his first full MLB season.
