Team Chara Cruises To 6-1 Victory In Bruins’ Black & Gold Scrimmage

blackandgoldThe 2014 Black & Gold scrimmage in Providence was a one-sided affair.

Team Chara cruised to a 6-1 win over Team Bergeron in the intersquad game featuring two teams comprised of Boston and Providence players, as well as rookies and prospects with no pro-level experience.

Chris Casto, Zach Trotman, Jared Knight, Alexander Khokhlachev and Tyler Randell (two goals) scored for Team Chara.

Tuukka Rask, who started for Team Bergeron, allowed three goals and was replaced by Jeremy Smith in the second period. Niklas Svedberg started between the pipes for Team Chara before Malcolm Subban took over in the second period.

PC’s take on scrimmage: “it shows that we only had 2 days of practice; it’s about working out the kinks, it’s about getting familiar” ^CS

Bruins general manager Peter Chiarelli told reporters after the game that David Pastrnak’s injury is considered “day-to-day,” per CBS Boston’s Matt Kalman. Pastrnak, who didn’t play Sunday, tweaked his shoulder during Saturday’s training camp practice after taking a hit from defenseman Matt Bartkowski.

The Bruins will return to Ristuccia Arena on Monday for two more training camp practices. Check back to NESN.com for updates on both sessions.
