The Cleveland Cavaliers have been in a bit of a rut lately, but after a win over the Milwaukee Bucks on Monday, Skip Bayless is back on the Cavs hype train.
So much so that he believes there is zero possibility of any team other than Cleveland advancing to the NBA Finals from the East.
The Cavs sit in third place in the conference, a mere game and a half above sixth place while six out of second. But now that Kevin Love has returned, Bayless is certain that they’re a runaway train in the East and that there is no hope for the Boston Celtics, nor Toronto Raptors to stop them.
“I’m here to declare the Eastern Conference is over. It’s over, it’s a cakewalk, it’s just over. The Celtics are decimated, they’re done. D-O-N-E. Done,” Bayless shouted Tuesday on his FOX Sports 1 talk show Undisputed.
When co-host Shannon Sharpe pointed out that the Celtics still have Kyrie Irving, Bayless countered with this:
“Do they? I think he needs knee surgery, I think he needs more cleanup surgery, he’s shut down right now,” Bayless said. “They’re done. They didn’t have quite enough to start with, and now they definitely don’t have enough.”
Here’s his full rant:
Though the Cavs have won their last two games, they still are 5-5 in their last 10 games. On top of that, they are not immune to the injury bug either. Larry Nance Jr., Rodney Hood, Tristan Thompson and Cedi Osman all are dealing with various ailments.
