The Kansas City Royals, still in the midst of their abbreviated 2020 regular-season schedule, announced their 2021 spring training slate Wednesday, as did the rest of Major League Baseball.
The Royals will open Cactus League play Feb. 27 against the Texas Rangers, their co-tenants at Surprise Stadium, and finish March 28 against Seattle.
Half of their 30-game slate will be home games, though with one “road game” against the Rangers they’ll play 16 games at their spring training home in Surprise, Arizona.
Kansas City’s 2021 regular-season opener is scheduled for April 1 against the Rangers at Kauffman Stadium.
