Major League Baseball’s amateur draft certainly doesn’t have the same hype surrounding it that the NBA or NFL enjoys. But the league is trying to grow its popularity. Red Sox president and CEO Larry Lucchino points to the college football and basketball systems’ popularity as the reason that MLB’s edition doesn’t quite measure up.
