Belmont Stakes 2016 Live Results, Analysis and Highlights From New York

The Belmont Stakes finally is here.

This year’s event won’t match the hype and excitement of 2015 when American Pharoah won in New York to complete a historic triple crown, but there are plenty of talented horses to watch.

One of them is Exaggerator, who is the favorite among oddsmakers after an impressive win at the Preakness Stakes two weeks ago — when he ended Kentuky Derby winner Nyquist’s bid at a triple crown.

Follow the action at the Belmont Stakes with our live blog. We’ll provide highlights and results.

6:50 p.m.: Payouts.

Destin: Place ($9.40), Show ($6.20)

6:42 p.m.: An incredible finish at the Belmont Stakes! Creator wins by a nose, literally. Destin finished second and Lani third. Preakness Stakes winner and pre-race favorite Exaggerator finished 11th.
